Our 2019 Annual Awards Luncheon was held on Friday, October 18, at the University of Richmond Jepson Alumni Center. Over 100 friends, supporters and volunteers came out to honor the following five deserving CancerLINC volunteers:

Special thanks to VCU Massey Cancer Center, our Presenting sponsor, as well as Virginia Cancer Institute and Capital One, Benefactor and Patron sponsors respectively. Support from these sponsors and many others, combined with donations made by attendees resulted in more than $35,000 raised. These funds will support CancerLINC’s mission of helping local cancer patients with legal and financial issues arising from their cancer diagnosis.

We are tremendously grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to the event’s success.

D. Allen Perkins was a past Board member of this organization having served for six years, and as Treasurer for most of that time. He had a strong and abiding commitment to CancerLINC and its mission. Most recently, he served as our accountant. Allen unexpectedly lost his life several weeks back. His service to CancerLINC was invaluable and he will be greatly missed. 

Get ready! Shop for a Cause will be happening this weekend at the Lilly Pulitzer on River Road and in Short Pump. Bring your friends and enjoy some refreshments while supporting CancerLINC! 10% of proceeds donated will go to CancerLINC. During the event, you will also be able to purchase a chemo kit for local cancer patients provided by Beautycounter.
