Board Member Spotlight: Stephanie Gilliard

Can you tell me a little about your position on the board and what your position is responsible for?

I’m presently serving as President of the Board. I work closely with the Executive Director to provide oversight of the organization. I also liaise with the community and potential donors as often as I can to tell them about the great work that we do.

Why did you become involved in the organization, and what has your involvement looked like over time?

I was ready to give back to the community in a more meaningful and consistent way. Board service was the best way to accomplish both objectives. Serving on the Board allowed me to utilize my 15+ years of legal experience to help oversee the organization so that CancerLINC could continue to provide crucial services to cancer patients at a time when they need it the most.

CancerLINC does not charge for any of its services. Funds from individual contributions, special events, and grant funding from foundations and corporations support the legal and financial planning services provided for local cancer patients and their families. CancerLINC is able to generate the equivalent of more than $3 in volunteer professional services for every $1 gift. Your gift will change the lives of cancer patients all around Richmond.
